How do we do it?

How do we do it?

By providing the access, financing, and financial literacy opportunities necessary for all 12.6 million underserved and underrepresented children to achieve a post-secondary education of their choice. Post-secondary education is defined as comprising of one of four things:

  • Attaining a 2 or 4-year college degree
  • Completing a qualified apprenticeship or other work training program
  • Completing a small business educational course and starting a small business within the city
  • Completing a real estate acquisition and financing course, and purchasing a residential or investment property within the city

Our mission at Sootchy is to help break the large and ever increasing disparity of wealth which has plagued us for generations and disproportionately affects people of color.

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

Community Involvement

We engage the entire community in a streamlined, collaborative and immersive multi-year citywide program to provide the following to every underrepresented child within the city:

  • A higher education fund (access).
  • The funding required to achieve a higher education with no student debt (financing)
  • A tailored digital and in-person financial literacy and mindfulness program designed to equip the child with the skills and mindset to build a happier, healthier and wealthier life (financial literacy & mindfulness)

Core Values

Studies also show that children with a college degree or other higher education make approximately $1 million more over their working careers than those with a high school diploma only.
